Enjoying the grill

The weather has gotten better and so we finally got a new gas grill. Ever since we look forward to pleasant evening where we could enjoy the weather and grill. We have been experimenting with different kinds of food. It's always fun learning to grill. It takes time to become a perfect grill master... they way things are going I for one will be very soon.

Wii

The other day my wife got me a Wii, my last gameing system was a Xbox. Wii was a game apart, it was more fun than the other games I have played. I liked the sports pack that came with it. I did buy a few more games with it but then the sports pack is still the best. It gives me some sort of workout better than sitting on the couch and watching TV...

Fun with code igniter

Recently I took on a project that required to be worked on LAMP environment. It had been a while since I had done any work using Apache, MySQL and PHP so I began digging in to see how far PHP and MySQL had progressed in the last 4 years and I was amazed at what I saw. The good thing was the availabilty of so many tools and frameworks to work with these platforms.
One particular framework that needs mention is Code Igniter http://www.codeigniter.com the tool is very easy and simple to configure and use. Most of all the documentation and example provided are also great. Way to go Open Source....

Programmed to forget the basics

Yesterday I was helping a friend with some computer programming assignments in C++. I have been programming for a long time and have designed and implemented sophisticated systems. But as I was going through the assignments I found that the questions were so simple and easy, but my though process had changed to solve more complicated problems that the assignment questions seemed more complicated than they should really be. It got me wondering is it my basics that is not strong or is it just that I haven't been doing such trivial programming. I really don't know, I wonder if other programmers and professionals experience the same in their respective fields?

Finally I got this blog going

For a long time I have had this blog spot but hadn't found the time to post. Well today I descided I was going to do something about it, so I went ahead and got some templates in customized it a bit and got it going. I guess over a period of time as I post I will fine tune it more.
